Anxiety

Anxiety is the feeling of worry and fear. Often these feelings can become a norm and cause individuals to become negatively affected by the sensations. These sensations cause the brain to respond by releasing stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. These reactions are known as the ‘fight, flight or freeze responses.

Depression is a sense of sadness, feeling down, hopelessness, and having a loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities are familiar feelings for all of us. But if they persist and affect our lives substantially, the issue may be depression.

Who am I and why did I start Mack Mental Health Group?

My name is George Mack. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider credentials (LPC-MHSP), a National Certified Counselor certification (NCC) certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), and currently, a student working on a Ph.D. that focuses on mental health sexual-based disorders. Becoming a mental health practitioner is a second career for me. I spent many years working as an HR representative, Statistical Analyst, and Green Belt Six Sigma consultant before I become hyper-focused on helping others with their psychological disorders. While working in this field, I became disheartened when I discovered that the mental health field has some serious limitations. These limitations consisted of a long waitlist to see a mental health provider and an absurd number of individuals who suffer from tremendous amounts of sexual-based trauma. This is why I chose the path that I am on and started the Mack Mental Health Group LLC.
